No emergency or crisis support

In an emergency, please get help now

If you are having thoughts of harming yourself or others, are in a mental health crisis, have a medical emergency, or have severe symptoms that need urgent care, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest hospital straight away. InnerWhispers does not provide emergency services.

At a glance

1. No emergency or crisis support

InnerWhispers does not provide emergency services. If you are experiencing:

  • Thoughts of harming yourself or someone else
  • A mental health crisis
  • A medical emergency
  • Severe psychiatric symptoms that need urgent care

please call 112, go to the nearest hospital, or call Tele-MANAS on 14416 (free, 24/7). Our forms, email and WhatsApp messages are not monitored for emergencies.

2. Not a substitute for medical treatment

Our psychiatrists, psychologists and counsellors offer professional support. However:

  • Our online and in-person services do not replace hospital care or inpatient treatment.
  • We do not provide 24/7 monitoring or crisis management.
  • Guidance from us should not be the only basis for important medical decisions. Your professionals may recommend tests, specialists or other care.
  • Information about medicines on our website is general. Never start, stop or change a medicine without talking to your doctor.

Always consult a qualified medical professional about your own health.

3. Website information

Content on our website, including blogs, articles, condition pages, programmes and resources:

  • Is for general education and information only.
  • May not apply to your situation, and isn't personal medical advice.
  • Should not be used to diagnose yourself or anyone else.
  • Is written carefully and reviewed, but medical knowledge changes, and we can't promise that every page is complete or up to date.

InnerWhispers is not responsible for decisions made only on the basis of website content.

4. Self-checks and online assessments

  • Our free self-checks and paid online assessments use published, research-based questionnaires. They are screening tools, not a diagnosis.
  • Scores show how your answers compare with published ranges. They can be affected by how you feel that day, how you read the questions, and other factors. A high or low score doesn't confirm or rule out a condition.
  • Only a qualified professional can make a diagnosis, by looking at your whole situation.
  • If a result worries you, or doesn't match how you feel, please talk to a professional.
  • Questionnaires remain the property of their authors and are used under their published terms.

5. Peer support and community

  • Peer supporters are trained listeners who share lived experience. They are not doctors, psychologists or counsellors, and they don't diagnose, give therapy or prescribe.
  • In the NAU community and at events, members' views are their own, not InnerWhispers' advice.
  • InnerWhispers is not responsible for content shared by members, what members say or do, or the misuse of resources or advice shared in groups.
  • We may remove anyone who breaks our safety or ethical guidelines.

6. Online sessions

Online consultations, therapy and counselling depend on:

  • A stable internet connection
  • A private, suitable place
  • Accurate information from you

InnerWhispers is not responsible for network problems, device faults or disruptions in your surroundings. Sessions interrupted by problems on your side are not refundable, as set out in our Refund Policy. Problems on our side are handled as that policy describes. Some needs are better met in person, and your professional may recommend that.

7. Personal responsibility

By using our services, you understand that:

  • You are responsible for giving honest, accurate information.
  • Progress depends on your engagement, consistency and openness.
  • Results of therapy and counselling vary from person to person.
  • Some emotional discomfort along the way is normal. Tell your professional if it feels like too much.

We offer support and care, not guaranteed outcomes.

8. Confidentiality

We follow strict confidentiality practices. Confidentiality may be set aside only when:

  • There is a serious risk of harm to you or others.
  • There is suspected abuse, or another legal obligation.
  • You give written consent.

See our Privacy Policy and Consent for Treatment for details.

9. No professional relationship through website content

Reading our content, taking a self-check, or messaging us does not create a therapy or consultation relationship. A professional relationship begins only once you have booked and attended a confirmed session with one of our professionals.

10. Images, stories and professionals

  • Photos on our website may be illustrative and may not show real clients or the people described.
  • Any experiences or testimonials we share are individual and don't mean you will have the same results.
  • Professional profiles describe qualifications and experience as provided by each professional. Please ask us if you'd like to confirm any details.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, InnerWhispers, including its founders, professionals and team, is not liable for:

  • The emotional outcomes of sessions
  • Personal decisions you make
  • Technical problems beyond our reasonable control
  • How you interpret general educational content or self-check results
  • Losses or inconvenience caused by service interruptions

Nothing in this disclaimer limits liability that can't be limited under Indian law, or your rights as a consumer. Our full terms, including how liability is limited, are in our Terms & Conditions.

13. Updates to this disclaimer

We may update this disclaimer from time to time. Changes are posted here with a new "Last updated" date. If you keep using our website or services after a change, the updated version applies.
