Why get assessed

Understand What's Really Going On

Many concerns look alike from the outside. Trouble focusing could be ADHD, anxiety, low mood or poor sleep. An assessment looks at the whole picture, so the support you get is built for you.

  • Make sense of your experience

Put a clear name and explanation to what you've been feeling.

  • Rule out other causes

Check whether sleep, stress, medicines or a physical issue is playing a part.

  • Get a plan that fits

Leave with clear recommendations for therapy, counselling, medical care or self-care.

Types of assessment

Choose the Right Assessment

Not sure which you need? Book a consultation and we'll guide you.

With a psychiatrist

Psychiatric Assessment

A detailed conversation about your symptoms, history, mood, sleep, physical health and any medicines. Your psychiatrist explains what may be going on and talks through treatment options, including medication if it's appropriate.

Good for: anyone unsure what's wrong, or thinking about medication.

Meet our psychiatrists →

With a psychologist

Psychological Assessment

An interview and standardised questionnaires that look at mood, anxiety, stress, thinking patterns and how you cope. It helps shape the right kind of therapy or counselling for you.

Good for: understanding emotional difficulties and planning therapy.

Meet our psychologists →

Focus and attention

ADHD Assessment

A careful look at your attention, focus and restlessness today and in childhood, using interviews and standard questionnaires, while checking for other causes such as anxiety, low mood or poor sleep.

Good for: adults and teens who have long struggled with focus or organisation.

Learn about ADHD →

Memory and thinking

Memory Assessment

An assessment of memory, thinking, mood and daily functioning, with guidance on any tests or scans. Some causes of memory problems are treatable, so it's worth checking early.

Good for: older adults with memory changes, and the families who've noticed them.

How it works

What to Expect, Step by Step

  1. Step 1

    Book

Choose a psychiatrist or psychologist. In the booking note, mention which assessment you're interested in.

  2. Step 2

    Prepare

You may be sent short questionnaires. Keep a list of your medicines and any past reports handy.

  3. Step 3

    Assessment

A private, unhurried conversation. Some assessments need more than one session, and a family member can join if helpful.

  4. Step 4

    Results and plan

Your professional explains the findings in plain language and recommends next steps that fit your life.

An assessment is not an emergency service. If you're thinking of harming yourself, call your local emergency number or Tele-MANAS (free, 24/7) at 14416 right away.

FAQ

Frequently Asked
Questions

No. You can book an assessment directly. If you have reports from another doctor, it helps to bring them.

Not always. An assessment is the process of understanding what's going on. It may lead to a diagnosis, or it may show that something else, like stress or poor sleep, is behind how you feel.

It depends on the type. Many assessments take one session. ADHD and memory assessments may need more than one, and your professional will tell you what to expect.

23 of our assessments can be taken online right away, free or paid. Assessments with a professional can be online or in person; some, such as memory tests, work better in person.

One attempt at the questionnaire online, your score and what it means straight away, a chart of your answers, and a one-page report emailed to you that you can save as a PDF.

Yes. Each payment covers one attempt, so taking it again needs a new payment. If you leave part way, you can continue in the same browser tab without paying again.

Contact us with your payment details and we will restore your attempt or refund you. See our Refund Policy.

A list of your current medicines, any past reports or prescriptions, and notes on what you have noticed. For ADHD and memory assessments, someone who knows you well can be very helpful.

Yes. Your results are shared only with you, and with others only with your consent, except in rare situations where someone's safety is at serious risk.

No. In a crisis, call your local emergency number (112 in India) or Tele-MANAS at 14416.
